Location Setup: We carefully chose a spot on the sandy beach that provided stunning views of the lake and the setting sun.
Unexpected Company: Despite a couple of onlookers settling nearby, we stayed focused and captured some truly magical shots.

Tips for a Successful Boudoir Photoshoot at Great Salt Lake
Bug Management
The Great Salt Lake is known for its bugs, but with a few simple strategies, you can minimize their impact:
Keep Moving: Walking around helps reduce bug encounters. The further you go, the fewer bugs you’ll encounter. Bringing bug spray along is a smart move.
Leave Quickly: Try to leave as soon as the sun goes down to avoid mosquitoes. While the sunset is beautiful, mosquitoes come out in full force right after.
Preparing for the Environment
The unique environment of the Great Salt Lake requires some extra preparation:
Protect Your Skin: Apply Vaseline or a protective balm to your legs and any exposed skin to prevent irritation from the saltwater, especially if you have cuts or have recently shaved.
Close Your Bags: Ensure any bags you bring (camera bag, change of clothes, etc.) are closed while shooting to avoid bringing any little buggy friends home with you.
Embrace the Location
The Great Salt Lake offers a stunning and unique backdrop for your photos. Here are some tips to make the most of it:
Have Fun: Enjoy the unique aspects of the lake. Walk barefoot in the sand, splash in the water, and let the natural surroundings inspire your movements. The more you embrace the setting, the more dynamic and authentic your photos will be.
Shower After: Embrace the salt and sand—you can shower afterward. Bring a towel and a change of clothes for after the shoot. The saltwater and sand can be uncomfortable, so having a way to clean up and change will help you feel more comfortable.
