Recently, I had the pleasure of collaborating with the amazing Nakisha on a unique photoshoot in South Jordan, UT. We discovered hidden gems within Daybreak, a spot that combines the charm and vibe of Downtown Salt Lake City or The Avenues, but without the crowds.

Exploring Daybreak: Perfect Backdrops for Editorial Style Shots
Shipping Container
Our adventure began at a shipping container radiating an industrial vibe. Its rugged, metallic surface made Nakisha’s vibrant poses pop with dynamic contrast. We played with angles and lighting, turning the container into a stage for dramatic effects.
Blue Wall and Stairs
Next, we stumbled upon a striking blue wall and a vibrant set of stairs that injected a bold splash of color into our photos. The blue backdrop perfectly matched Nakisha’s blue hair, creating a visually harmonious scene. We embraced fun, exaggerated poses to showcase her playful personality. The stairs added an extra dimension, allowing us to craft multi-layered compositions that were both dynamic and captivating.
Cactus Art Installation
One of the most unique spots we discovered was a captivating cactus art installation. This inconspicuous structure combined natural and abstract elements, perfect for our editorial-style photoshoot. In order to blend Nakisha with the art, we used creative techniques like framing and low angles.

The rusted wall’s textured and rustic backdrop offered a captivating contrast to Nakisha’s vibrant look, especially with her hair standing out against the wall and the beautiful blue sky. Loading Dock
The industrial vibe of the loading dock added a gritty edge to our photoshoot.
